Is your students' voice data safe? What you need to know

When we talk about voice data, especially when it comes to young people, the issue of security and privacy quickly becomes a concern. And rightly so. At Beyond Words VR, protecting learners’ voices is at the heart of our ethical and technical approach.

What happens to the voice recordings?

Actually, there are no recordings. The voice is processed only in real time, directly in the application. No audio file is stored. The moment the voice is captured, the signal is immediately transformed. There is therefore no possibility of retrieving, reusing, or identifying the original voice.

Is the student identifiable?

No. The processed voice is completely anonymised, even during use. The artificial intelligence receives no identifying information. This means the student’s identity is never linked to their voice data. From a data protection perspective, it’s as if the voice had never been captured.
